T86 - Automate data entry in an application from a CSV file.

Task Description

Create a task that will automate input of data in an application. The data will be read from a CSV file created by another application.

Note: Keep the application in which data input is to be automated, open.

Note: Save the .atmn file in My Documents -> Automation Anywhere -> Automation Anywhere -> My Tasks

Solutions

	Create a new task Click on New->Task Editor	Screenshot 1 Screenshot 2 Screenshot 3 Screenshot 4
	Open the CSV file containing the source data Using the Excel command from the Application category specify the CSV file to open.
	Get the data to be input from the CSV file Using the Excel command from the Application category get the required data from the CSV file, into the clipboard.
	Assign the data to the appropriate control in the target application Using the Manage Windows Controls command from the Programs/Files/Windows category set the value of the appropriate control to the value in the clipboard.
	Repeat the above steps for each row in the CSV file until the column containing Employee number is blank. Using the Loop command and selecting "Condition" option, you can Loop through each row of the CSV file till the specified condition is satisfied.

When you run this task, it will read the values from a CSV file and automatically assign the same into the appropriate control in the target application.
